Food Assignments for the Ground Hog Meet
On the next few pages you will find your food assignment for
the meet. This
is the last of our three-day meets that Shawmut depends on for income. Each family will be expected to bring in their
food on Friday night unless
otherwise stated in the assignment next to your name. If you are unclear about your assignment,
call Monica Plotnik at 508-872-8634 or email me at mplotnik828@aol.com . If you are unable
to attend or are not working a particular session, please arrange to have
someone else deliver your food. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU DO NOT SUBSTITUTE
ITEMS OR SIZES WITHOUT TALKING TO ME FIRST.
Most of the assignments should cost you around $30. The bulk
assignments have been priced at BJ’s Wholesale Club. This is where you will find the quantities
that I have assigned. It is also the
most cost effective. I’ve done my best
to make this equitable, but if I’ve given you an assignment that seems out of
line (price wise) please let me know.
On Friday when you drop off your food donation at the snack
bar, please make sure you check in and that your name is crossed off of the
donation list. This
is the only way to know that you’ve met your obligation since we have multiple
families bringing in the same items.
Beverages - Gatorade should be the 20oz plastic
bottles only. Please try and get
varieties that you think would sell - usually the green flavors don’t really sell.
Water should be the 16oz size only.
Pasta Salad – Please keep it as simple as possible or
the kids won’t eat it! You should use 5
– 1lb boxes of pasta (rotini or penne). Peas and carrots work well. The kids seem to like it best with Italian dressing
(They like the Fanny’s brand since it’s not too spicy). If possible, please pack it in gallon size
Ziploc bags. Also, please dress the
pasta on the lighter side so it doesn’t get too soggy over the weekend. We have extra dressing that the kids can put
on it at the meet.
Monetary assignments – You can leave your check (made out to Shawmut Aquatic Club) for
me in my folder at Keefe. You do not
have to send in a check prior to the meet, but it makes it less hectic for me
not to have to deal with it while I’m setting up. Please just make sure to hand me the check
before (or at) your first work assignment.
I have assigned some families monetary assignments as we use this to
pick up extra things that we run out of.
To the
people assigned to bring a
COOLER – It would be greatly
appreciated if you could start us off with a bag or two of ice (if you can’t –
it’s OK too). It really takes a lot of
leg work to fill all of the coolers with ice at Keefe so any help that we can
get….!!
Please be sure to mark all of the griddles, crock pots and
coolers that you bring to the meet with your name.
Once again, if I don’t get to thank each of you personally,
please know that all of your help is greatly appreciated!
Monica
