LOCATION: University of Connecticut, Wolff-Zakin Natatorium, Storrs, CT. Six 50-meter lanes with non-turbulent lane lines. The pool is equipped with a Colorado Timing System, touch pads and an electronic scoreboard.

ENTRY
INFORMATION:
All entries, on diskette, handwritten, or e-mailed, will be accepted
beginning Wednesday, April 28, 2004 and must be submitted no later than 5:00 PM,
Wednesday, June 9, 2004. When using
a disk or sending the entry by e-mail, use the standard sd3 or cl2 file. The
hard copy, check, and the entry summary sheet must be received within four
business days of your e-mailed entry. An entry will not be accepted without the
hard copy and payment. No faxed or
phoned entries will be accepted.
All hard copies and checks should be sent by certified mail. Please check the "no signature required" box on overnight deliveries. All entries must be typed or legibly printed and must include all swimmers' USS numbers and ages, event numbers and seed times. If there is a discrepancy between the hard copy and the electronic entry, the hard copy will be used as the official meet entry. ENTRY TIMES: All entry times must be long course meter times or yard times converted into long course meter times using a conversion factor of 1.14. A "NT", or no time entry will not be accepted. Please provide a coach's time if a swimmer does not have an official time for a specific event.
TIME UPDATES: Entry times may be updated up until the entry deadline of 5:00 PM, Wednesday, June 9, 2004 provided no new swimmers are added and no changes other than time updates are made to the file. Additional swimmers must be added in a separate file.
SCRATCHES:
E-mailed
scratches will be accepted up until 5:00 PM on Wednesday, June 9, 2004.
All coaches should check in with the bullpen upon arrival at the pool.
Coaches will be provided with coach's packets available at the bullpen
before the start of the meet. Coaches
will receive scratch sheets for the
sessions in their coach's packet. Coaches
must indicate scratches on these sheets and return them to the bullpen no later
than 30 minutes before the beginning of each session.
The Saturday evening session (the 800 and 1500 meter freestyles) will be by
positive check-in. Swimmers must
check in by 6:00 PM or they will be scratched from the event.
Coaches, please carefully review the remaining information contained
in the coach's packet.
Heat sheets will be posted. It
is each swimmer's responsibility to be behind the starting block for their
event.
ENTRY CUTS: This is a Connecticut-sanctioned meet. There are no provisions for a lottery. Entries will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. Each team attending the meet will be allotted a proportion of the Saturday evening swims within the confines of the four-hour time limit.
If payment and the hard copy are received within four business days of the e-mailed entry, the date of the e-mailed entry will be considered the date of entry. If payment and the hard copy are not received within four business days of the e-mailed entry, the date the payment arrives will be considered the date of entry.
PAYMENT INFORMATION: Checks must be made payable to Shawmut Aquatic Club. No swimmer may swim more than five (5) events per session, except for the Friday evening session, in which each swimmer will be limited to two (2) events, and the Saturday evening session, in which each swimmer will be limited to one (1) event. Please note that 8 and under swimmers can only swim the 50 Free, 100 Free, 50 Back, 50 Breast & 50 Fly events. The meet director reserves the right to limit heats in certain events in order to comply with the 4-hour time limit.
ENTRY FEES: Connecticut fee structure applies; please read. All events are $3.50 per event. The 800 and 1500 meter freestyles are $5.00 per event.
ELIGIBILITY: All swimmers and teams must be registered with USA Swimming for 2004. New England swimmers may register with Mary Riddell, 20 Cleveland Circle, Needham, MA. 02492.
RULES: 2004 US Swimming Rules will govern all competition. All events will be swum as timed finals. Swimmers must provide their own counters and timers for the 800 and 1500 meter freestyle events.
AWARDS: Ribbons will be awarded to the top six finishers in each age group. Separate awards will be made to the 9\10 and 8 & Under age groups for all 10 & Under events. Separate awards will be made in any combined events
FOOD: Shawmut Aquatic Club will operate a concession stand throughout the meet.
DIRECTIONS: Take Mass Pike to I-84 West. From I-84 take Exit 68 onto Route 195. Follow Rt. 195 East approximately seven miles to University campus. Take a right onto the campus on to N. Eagleville. Follow approximately 1/2 mile to first light. Take left onto Hillcrest. Pool is approximately one mile on your right next to the basketball arena. Do not park on the street in front of the pool facility. You will be towed.
WARMUPS: US Swimming Warm-up procedures will be followed. A warm-up schedule will be included in all coach's packets.
ADMISSIONS: There is no admission charge, as required by Connecticut Swimming. Programs are $6.00 for the entire swim meet.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS:
No food will be allowed on deck. Smoking
is only allowed outside of the building. All
swimmers are required to remain in the pool area, locker rooms, or spectator
area. No one will be allowed in the
gym. Shaving on site is strictly
prohibited.
