Shawmut Aquatic Club (sAc) offers a competitive, structured, and healthy swim program for swimmers ages seven and older. Shawmut’s primary practice facilities are Keefe Technical High School (Framingham) and Dana Hall School (Wellesley). SAC also practices at MIT periodically during the year. Our team provides quality instruction and training for children and young adults from all parts of Massachusetts, predominantly the MetroWest area. Some of the towns and cities that our families live in include: Sudbury, Framingham, Weston, Ashland, Wellesley, Hopkinton, Southborough, Westborough, Natick, Westwood, Wayland, Dover, Needham, Dedham, Sherborn, and Brookline.
Shawmut is celebrating 35 years as a United States Swimming (USS) Club in New England. Shawmut has continued its tradition of excellence over the years; solidify itself as a premiere swimming program in New England and as a nationally respected, well-rounded program. Shawmut has been recognized by USA Swimming as a Level 4 Swim Club, an award based on organizational success, coach education, and athletic performance. SAC is one of just 13 teams in the country to reach this highest level. There are over 2,700 USS swim clubs in the United States and Shawmut was recently ranked the 64th strongest swim club in the nation. Shawmut was ranked 1st in New England.
Here at Shawmut, we take pride in our commitment to swimming fast, but we are equally proud of the results we see away from the pool. Our environment at Shawmut – through its promotion of learning, teamwork, leadership, and commitment– produces great students and outstanding young women and men. We have had numerous All Scholastic USA Team Members, a program that recognizes student-athletes for their accomplishments in and out of the pool. Our former swimmers are currently attending some of the most prestigious schools in the country, including Georgetown, Tufts, Harvard, Williams, Wesleyan, Bowdoin and Wellesley College.
Shawmut offers five different groups, coached by professionals, which meet the physical and emotional needs of every swimmer on the team. Group placement is determined by the coaching staff, and some factors that affect group placement include ability level, maturity, and age. Our group progressions help ensure a safe, healthy, and productive swimming and personal experience for every Shawmut member. A brief description of each group is below.
